This is a community building, online group course that supports makers of all kinds.
Led by VIM VIGOR's Shannon Gillen and Jason Cianciulli, each set of sessions will delve into creation methods that can apply across mediums and which invite participants to playfully engage new ways of thinking, seeing, and manifesting embodiment in their work.
In the first of two sessions, participants will be invited into a series of exercises that travel through kinesthetic, sonic and visual landscapes. We will explore the ways in which our bodies enter into and adapt to these terrains. At the close of the first session, you will be giving a creative process prompt that draws from the day's explorations. The following seven days will be an opportunity to build a short, research based work in progress. The second and final session, will be an opportunity for participants to share their findings and a group discussion. We are interested in developing community around these explorations, where exchange, feedback, and networking take place naturally.
Together we will ask:
How do you share your ideas and information with others?
What does your research practice look like and is it working?
What is the translation of your research to performance?
What do you have so far?
What is the journey or bridge between?
2 HOUR SESSION / $15 or Bundled Classes:
Online Sessions via ZOOM / EST
SUNDAYS 12:30PM - 2:30PM (starting 1/17/2021)
We are offering online floorwork classes that nurture each dancers' ability to move with stealth into and out of the floor, develops skillsets that harness the power of sequential motion, nurtures functional architecture that protects the body, and builds stamina for dancing that spans dynamic shifts in size, rhythm and tone.
An essential aspect to this training includes methods of 'constructing' personal architecture towards dynamic functionality while also supporting potent modes of recovery.
Our offering reorganizes the traditional structure of a movement class, by placing the physical climax of effort towards the middle, allowing for deep saturation of information and recovery to close out the practice. We are interested in supporting physical artists to find ways to prioritize their health and wellbeing, while pursuing new movement information.
This class addresses the wear and tear that movement based artists experience, and provides the book-end practices of conditioning, stretching, and centering, to make dance class a personal ritual of self-care and embodied recovery.
These sessions require at least 100-144 sq feet of unimpeded movement space.

Personalized one on one mentorship with VIM VIGOR's Shannon Gillen
and Jason Cianciulli. One or both will always lead.
These sessions are geared towards tapping into and developing each artist's performance assets. We will dig into personal story, how it relates to daily practice, and the ways in which it can be a resource to creative efforts. We will also activate perspective, sharing different methods we use to switch out the lens, allowing one to view creative action in new ways. Each artist will find themselves in situations that call upon their bodies to employ movement, voice and text to make sense of compositional possibilities.
Our goal is to help you to identify areas of research and to create long-term plans for discovery. This process will be immersive and challenging - delving deep into the YOU of your practice.
We consider this mentorship valuable to performers from all backgrounds who want to deepen their practice (movement, theater and fine arts practitioners are welcome).
Our performance mentorship has three chapters of research.
Each chapter includes five sessions.
CHAPTER ONE: SELF CYCLE
CHAPTER TWO: NATURE CYCLE
CHAPTER THREE: DREAM (UNCONSCIOUS TERRAIN) CYCLE
